Psychology / Counselling appointments
- Standard consultations last 60 minutes.
- No referral is required, and payment in full is requested at the time of consultation.
- Patients who have eligible private insurance may claim a rebate from their health fund. HICAPS is available to process the claim at the time of payment.
- Patients who have a valid GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan, may claim a Medicare rebate. Medicare Easyclaim is available to process the claim at the time of payment. The GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan must be provided to the Mental Health Clinician / Psychologist at the time of consultation in order to claim the rebate. Under the current system, up to 10 claims may be made per calendar year (A referral for 6 initial consultations, followed by a GP review and a further referral for 4 further consultations if clinically appropriate). Please note that the referral must specify the health professional by name.
- Health Practitioners reserve the right to charge a fee of $30 - $60 for non-attendance or late cancellation. Late cancellation is defined as providing less than 4 business hours notice for Medical Services, and less than 24 hours notice for Psychology/Allied Health Services.
Other Allied Health Appointments
- Initial consultations last 30-60 minutes (depending on the service). Standard consultations last 30 minutes.
- No referral is required, and payment in full is requested at the time of consultation.

- Patients who have a valid GP referral and GP Management Plan (with Team Care Arrangements), may claim a Medicare rebate. Medicare Easyclaim is available to process the claim at the time of payment. The GP referral and GP Management Plan must be provided to at the time of consultation in order to claim the rebate. Under the current system, up to 5 claims may be made per calendar year. Eligibility criteria apply: "for a patient who has a chronic or terminal medical condition and also requires ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team of at least three health or care providers." Please note that the Plan must specify the health professional by name.
