East Ringwood Clinic is a privately billing practice.  Discounts are available for Pensioners and Health Care Card holders.  With both male and female staff, and a wide range of skills; the medical centre has a doctor to suit your needs. Traditionally a GP only practice, the medical centre now has a variety of allied health services.

The clinic has been caring for the local community since 1952.  Although the medical centre is one of the oldest in the area, the building itself has been extensively upgraded and refurbished. A modern comfortable environment now complements the quality care of a well-established general practice. Our patients come from Ringwood  East,  Ringwood,  Heathmont,  &  Croydon; and value our professional, ethical, and comprehensive approach to health care.

East Ringwood Clinic is also a training post for the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program. We are delighted to be involved in training the next generation of GPs, and honoured to be selected for this role.  The clinic typically hosts 2 GP registrars per year under the supervision of our well experienced GPs.

Patient Information

East Ringwood Clinic is an Associateship of Independent Health Practitioners.

East Ringwood Clinic is equipped to treat urgent but not life-threatening medical problems.  If you have potentially life-threatening symptoms then please call ‘000’ for an ambulance or go directly to your local Emergency Department.  For urgent but not life-threatening medical problems, contact the clinic for assistance.  Please advise the reception staff of the urgency of the appointment.

Consultations are by appointment with the Health Practitioner of your choice.  Appointments can be made by telephone or online via the clinic website.  A standard medical appointment is for (up to) 15 minutes.  If you have complex multiple issues to discuss, please request a longer appointment to allow adequate time.

A 24 hour locum service may be contacted via the clinic phone number for urgent care outside normal clinic hours. Alternatively contact 13 SICK : 13 74 25 .  Please dial ‘000’ for emergency care.

Interpreter services are available on request.

Please refer to the Fees section of the clinic website for the most common services, or enquire within the clinic.  Payment is required at the time of consultation / service.  Credit card, Eftpos, and instant Medicare rebate facilities are available. 

Health Practitioners reserve the right to charge a fee for non-attendance or late cancelation.  Late cancelation is defined as providing less than 4 business hours’ notice for Medical Services, and less than 24hrs notice for Allied Health services.

Our doctors can advise you how long investigations take to process.  Please attend in person if asked to do so.  Otherwise please ring for results and you will be advised of any further action.  Please do not assume that your results are normal without contacting the clinic.

Home visits are available to regular and established patients of the clinic, who live in close proximity and cannot attend due to medical reasons.  Doctors will approve requests on a case by case basis.  Home visits can also be provided by the After Hours locum service.

East Ringwood Clinic uses a recall system to assist in follow up of medical issues.  We recommend a use of a recall system for reminders of pap smears, Breast Screen, and other important issues as indicated by each individual’s health needs. If you do not wish to be on the recall register please speak with our practice manager.

Patients who wish to register for a personally controlled electronic health (eHealth) record can do so by registering on line or completing a registration form at the clinic.  To register online use:  www.ehealth.gov.au

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.  Our full privacy policy is available upon request.

It is our policy to strive for your best possible care.  We appreciate all feedback (both positive and negative) in assisting with ongoing improvements.  Where issues to arise, we endeavour do resolve them.  Where issues are not resolved to a patient’s satisfaction, patients may discuss the complaint with the Victorian Health Services Commissioner (Tel : 8601 5200)
